This compilation of basic epidemiological information on milestones and process indicators is to be prepared every quarter, as part of a series of reports which inform the deliberations of the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB), along with a risk assessment from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), a report on communications indicators from UNICEF and information from Ministries of Health and regional and national technical advisory groups. The IMB, as part of its mandate to evaluate progress against the global milestones of the Strategic Plan, evaluates and ranks the milestones, assesses mid-course corrections and makes recommendations to the heads of agencies of the spearheading partners and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
