Technical assistance

The Global Programme for Polio Eradication deploys technical assistance – staff and consultants – when relevant skills are not available within a national health system.

Technical assistance provides the human resources necessary for immunization campaign planning, including communcation and social mobilization strategy development and implementation, micro-planning, logistics, forecasting and supply management. It also provides resources for communication capacity development, management skills, and for maintaining the surveillance network.
