Angola

Status: non-endemic

Angola has interrupted transmission of indigenous wild poliovirus and of imported virus which had re-established transmission, and is currently responding to a separate importation of virus. Vaccination rounds of consistently high quality, along with demonstrated improvements in AFP surveillance, will be needed to ensure the country stops all transmission of polio and remains polio-free.
