This document presents the findings of an independent evaluation, which was conducted in 2009 to review the remaining barriers to interrupting polio transmission.

The evaluation team expressed confidence that if managerial, security and technical issues it identified can be addressed, "polio eradication can be achieved”, but the Global Polio Eradication Initiative should “not make too optimistic projections."
